Concert agency Corelli Music continues presenting beautiful thematic
music of the church year in the concert series „Church Holidays in the
Land of Mary“. This time the focus is on Lent season, starting from
February 10th and ending on March 20th – beginning of Holy Week and Palm
Sunday. Time of Lent is time for contemplation and remembering those
who have suffered in vain. The AGNUS DEI concerts in March coincide with
bombing of Estonia in World War II. In 1942-1944 many cities of the
Land of Mary were heavily damaged and many innocent people killed. The
worst were March bombing nights of 1944 in Narva (March 6-7), Tallinn
(March 9-10) and Tartu (March 25-26). Architectural pearls like the old
baroque town of Narva, Stone bridge and theater Vanemuine of Tartu,
parts of Tallinn old town and city center were destroyed beyond repair.
