Corelli
Baroque Orchestra on period instruments will perform with Estonian top
soloists, conducted by Martin Sildos. The musicians will play on baroque
instruments, led by the spirit of early times, just as the masterpieces by
Corelli and Vivaldi might have sound like in the composer's lifetime in fancy
Italian churches. Enjoy the style and elegance of Corelli and Vivaldi!
The beautiful
music of Italian masters will be performed by Estonian top musicians who have
been specialised on early music. The concerts will take place in Estonian
churches that can be considered as cultural heritage, the interior and spirit
of the churches will give a soulful quality to the music. On 20 October, the
concert brings us to the historical St John's Church in Tartu, which preserves
lots of Medieval terracotta figures and ornamentations that are unique in whole
European Gothic style. The concert on 21 October takes place in two-tower
Charles's church, built in the end of the 19th century for the greatest
Estonian congregation in Tallinn. The church has been decorated with its
furnishing, large rose window and grand church bells.
The most valuable adornment of the sanctuary has considered to be the
altarpiece by Estonian painter Johann Köler. The fresco of Jesus Christ was
painted in 10 days and a farmer from Hiiumaa island was used as a model.
