Towers of
Tallinn and brilliant musicians!
Festival "Towers of Tallinn" brings together the history of ancient
Tallinn and contemporary oeuvre, introducing the city's famous silhouette inside out through different
eras of music. Concerts of this year will be held in various towers: at the
Tallinn TV Tower, that played an
important role in the restoration of independence of Estonia and is the highest
of its kind in Northern Europe; at Artis Cinema, that has a view to the corner
tower of the former Sakala Centre and other towers; and the Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul, in the heart of the Old Town with
it's neoclassical facade and two massive towers.

PERFORMERS: Ensemble Verbarium: Liina Saar (vocals), Marek
Talts (electric guitar), Erki Pärnoja (acoustic guitar), Mingo Rajandi (double
bass), Eno Kollom (percussion)
In the music of ensemble Verbarium text is always in the
foreground, relying at the same time on colorful rhythimc patterns. Verbarium
gets inspired from world music, Estonian folk music and rock music. Two main
composers of the ensemble - Liina Saar and Mingo Rajandi - compose memorable
melodies, which contain complex structures underneath their seeming simplicity.
Poetry of Kersti Merilaas and August Sang, who belonged to the grouping Arbujad, offers numerous opportunities
for different interpretations of musical character - there are lyrical
descriptions of nature, romantic bursts of feelings, pain of the world and
humanity's stupidity and wickedness, and a deep love for the homeland.
Entrance to the TV Tower from 19 o'clock, before
the concert is possible to see the exhibition at the viewing platform on the
21st floor and to enter the restaurant on the
