PIMPINONE! Season opening concerts

Corelli Music concert agency is starting its 15th year of activity collaborating with Opera Veto opera studio. Together they bring into life a comic opera "Pimpinone" by German composer Georg Philipp Telemann.

These season opening concerts in Puurmani Castle and ancient Ungen-Sternberg city palace offer a genuine experience of a music lounge in baroque period - back then comic opera was not played as an independent ouvre, but it was mixed with works by other composers.

Besides the enjoyment of music, audience can experience the wonderful interieurs of our decorous locations.

PROGRAM: G. Ph. Telemann's (1681 - 1767) comic opera "Pimpinone" in the spirit of baroque period music lounge, mixed with the compositions by A. Corelli and others.

Director Auri Jürna: „Telemann's „Pimpinone" is a story of a maid and his new superior. It is a classical story of a ambitious and clever underling and a good-natured and credulous richman. They meet with equal but different hopes. In the end of the story one of them is victorious and happy while the other feels disappointed and submissive. The aim of this performance is to stress the virtuous, multiplex, dramatic music. Staging is trying to show the characters almost as puppets or painted one dimensional figures whose humanness will eventually win you to the one side or the other. Who was right? Who won? Who hurt the other?"

Enjoy the style and elegance of former times and today's splendid musicians and marvellous interiors!

The duration of the concert is 2 hours, with an interval.
