Corelli
Music invites you to enjoy spirited concerts RUSSIAN ROMANCE in series Romantic
Manors. Soprano Kaia Urb and guitarist Heiki Mätlik perform wonderfully soulful
Russian beloved romances in ballrooms of the most beautiful manors. During
23-year collaboration of the duo, they have performed the Russian romance
programme most often, also it has proven to be most warmly beloved by the
audience. Estonian Public Broadcasting has recorded it and recording company
Harmonia Mundi has published CD with the very same programme.
Russian
romance is a blend of wonderful music and beautiful poetry. The genre that has
it roots in French culture and literature was especially loved in the lounges
of Russian educated aristocracy in the 19th century. These songs are
rich in nuances and rapidly alternating moods that reflect different facets of
honour and love. The decisive factor in this could be considered a high-quality
sense of the text. Many romances are based on beautiful texts by eminent poets
such as Pushkin, Lermontov, Nekrassov, Fet and Tolstoy, often the romances are
based on folk songs. Every romance is a story of its own: encounters, partings,
noble ideals, sacrifices, tenderness, sincerity of the feelings, passion and
love. And what is most important – Russian soul!
Romantic
manors can be interpreted in several ways. But in any case, valuing the
feelings, escaping from everyday life
and prizing the beautiful moment belong to both romantic manors and Russian
romances. All of you who would like to offer your dearest ones something nice
and special in the cold winter: a concert in manor hall is a good chance to
link a romantic evening in beautiful surrounding to emotional music. Enjoy the
style and elegance of former times!
The concert
with intermission lasts for 1,5 hours.
