Corelli Music celebrates Mothers Day with a beautiful
concert featuring Teunis van der Zwart, the master of natural horn, the French
horn from baroque era - an instrument that cannot be heard too often in
Estonia. The concert is a nice ending for a two-day master course at the
Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, given by the acknowledged natural horn
player, conductor and lecturer from Holland.
Teunis van der Zwart has been one of the most important
ambassadors of natural horn all over the world and founder of an interactive
social association for this instrument. Estonian musician Andreas Väljamäe also
has been invited to be a member of this association to establish playing
culture of this mystic instrument here in Estonia.
Especially bright and beatiful baroque music can be heard in
this concert where first time in the Estonian music history, natural horn is
played by our own musicians. The program includes movements from the famous Water
Music by Händel but also French Horn Concertos by Telemann and Graun for
one or two natural horns, wonderful Arias, etc.
Teunis van der Zwart has performed as a soloist and a
chamber musician, he has been teaching and lecturing in several concert series
and festivals in Europe, America, Australia and Japan. He has recorded numerous
CD-s and given many concerts with remarkable early music ensembles.
Teunis van der Zwart is teaching both at the Conservatoire
of Amsterdam and Royal Conservatory of the Hague, he also is a leading French
horn player in the Orchestra of the 18th Century, conductor of the
chamber orchestra Musica d'Amore and founder and artistic director of Sinuet
Ensemble.
Concert lasts for two hours (including the intermission).
